     Jim Tibbs is a native Washingtonian, a product of the public and parochial schools, graduating from Archbishop Carroll in 1968. Undergraduate and professional degrees were earned in Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine in 1976 from Tuskegee Institute. Post graduation Dr. Tibbs obtained USDA Accredited Veterinarian status, and his first

     Jim Tibbs is a native Washingtonian, a product of the public and parochial schools, graduating from Archbishop Carroll in 1968. Undergraduate and professional degrees were earned in Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine in 1976 from Tuskegee Institute. Post graduation Dr. Tibbs obtained USDA Accredited Veterinarian status, and his first employment was as an Assistant Professor/Extension Specialist in the Department of Animal Science, North Carolina State University. Subsequently he returned to the D.C. area, entered private practice and served as a Veterinary Medical Officer with the Food and Drug Administration. He is licensed in the District of Columbia and Maryland and Virginia  

    Dr.Tibbs has been active in many veterinary organizations. Nationally he has severed on committees of the American Veterinary Medical Association and held office with his Alumni Association. Locally he has served as President of the Maryland Veterinary Medical Association and the Prince George's County Veterinary Medical Association.

    Jim's service to the community has included being a board member of the P.G. County Fair Board, P.G. County Animal Control Commission, Patuxent River 4-H Foundation and serving as a Maryland Racing Commission Veterinarian. Frequently he participates in Career Days at area schools.

She is a Registered Veterinary Technician and served as President of the Maryland Veterinary Technician Association for three years.  During that time sh

    Carolyn graduated from Washington's McKinley Technical High School and obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of the District of Columbia. She is a Registered Veterinary Technician and served as President of the Maryland Veterinary Technician Association for three years.  During that time she was instrumental in developing the first externship program between Essex Community College, Veterinary Technology Program and Virginia Tech, VA/MD Regional College, School of Veterinary Medicine in Blacksburg, VA. . Together with her husband, they began the Oakcrest Veterinary Clinic in 1978.

Over those years she has embraced many roles in the company; now being the Office Manager. Michelle is a Largo High School graduate with veterinary training through Prince George’s Community College and Penn Foster Colleg

Leptospirosis vaccination protects against an infection transmitted by wildlife/pets. It is a zoonotic  disease which means it can be transmitted to people 
    2. Bring your dog to see us for regular checkups.
    3. Give your dog a nutritionally balanced diet, including constant access to fresh water. Ask us for advice on what and how often to feed your pet.
    4. Enroll your dog in a training class. Positive training will allow you to control your dog's behavior safely and humanely, and the experience offers a terrific opportunity to enhance the bond you share with your dog.

          6.   Prevention is key fleas ticks and heartworms are dangerous to your pet and can cause a whole multitude of diseases it is highly recommended that you put your pet on a preventative that they take monthly to stop those nasty parasites

    5.Groom your cat often to keep them coat healthy, soft, and shiny. Although it is especially important to comb long-haired cats to prevent their hair from matting, even short-haired felines need to be groomed to remove as much loose hair as possible.
